You Should Never Have To Ask
If you've ever reached out to a vendor and led with an apology for who you are... this one's for you.
We moved to North Carolina quite a few years ago from New York; and one of the first things that surprised us was the inquiries we started getting. Couples reaching out, excited about their wedding... but asking first, carefully, almost apologetically... "are you ok to photograph us? we're a same-sex couple and we've been turned away before."
That broke our hearts every single time.
Not because it was shocking that discrimination exists... we know it does. But because these couples were so used to it that checking had become just another item on their wedding planning list. Right there between booking a caterer and finding a florist, make sure someone will actually photograph us.
No one should have to do that.
We got into this work because we believe in love. Not love as long as it looks a certain way, or love between the "right" kinds of people. Just... love. The real, specific, complicated, beautiful thing that happens between two particular humans who chose each other.
That's the only kind there is.
So if you've been turned away, or ghosted after a first meeting, or made to feel like your love story is somehow less worthy of being told... we want you to know that you are exactly who we're here for. Every couple, every body, every love story. No exceptions, no asterisks, no fine print.
We'd be honored to photograph your wedding.
We'd love to chat with you about your plans for your wedding day, so let's get coffee (or tea... and possibly cookies...) and discuss the big day!
