Check Your DateA Century of History, One Unforgettable Day
If you're planning a wedding in the Triad and want a venue with genuine architectural soul — not a converted conference room or a generic ballroom — The Loft at Congdon Yards in downtown High Point is in a category of its own. Dating back to the 1920s when the building operated as a hosiery mill, the Factory building at Congdon Yards has preserved the elements that make it irreplaceable: warm wood plank floors worn smooth by a century of use, soaring timber columns, and original brick walls that no amount of decoration can replicate.
Located on the 4th floor of the Factory building, The Loft offers three distinct event rooms — the Pine Room, Linen Room, and Silk Room — plus two private getting ready suites and views of downtown High Point that frame the celebration with the energy of the city below. Whether you use one room or all three, the venue adapts to your vision while the building's historic character does the heavy lifting aesthetically.
The Loft has earned its reputation as one of the most photographically compelling wedding venues in the Triad. Reviewers consistently mention how striking their photos turned out — and photographers who work here understand why. Every surface tells a story, and that history shows up in every frame.

The Loft's three event rooms can be used individually or combined for larger celebrations of up to 300 guests. Each room includes a venue attendant and chiavari chairs with tables. The Linen Room features customizable accent lighting. Two private getting ready suites — the Luxe Suite and the Leather Suite — allow the bridal and wedding parties to prepare separately on site before the ceremony begins.
Three Rooms, Endless Possibilities
One of The Loft's greatest strengths for wedding photography is how each room has its own distinct character — warm and rustic in the Pine Room, light and contemporary in the Silk Room, energetic with city views in the Linen Room. Used individually or together, the rooms produce a gallery with genuine visual range across the day.

Up to 300 guests
The Pine Room
The largest and most dramatic room in The Loft — filled with rustic charm, soaring timber columns, warm wood plank floors, and anchored by a beautiful antique bar. The Pine Room is the signature space of the venue and the one most couples use for their ceremony or main reception. The combination of timber, brick, and warm ambient lighting produces a rich, layered backdrop that photographs beautifully at every time of day — and transforms dramatically as the evening progresses. Includes a venue attendant and 300 gold chiavari chairs with tables.

Up to 200 guests
The Linen Room
Warm and inviting, the Linen Room features downtown High Point views and customizable accent lighting that allows the mood to shift from bright and open during the ceremony to intimate and glowing for the reception. The city views through the windows create a distinctive backdrop for portraits and wide-angle reception coverage — urban energy framed by the venue's historic character. Includes a venue attendant and 200 mahogany chiavari chairs with tables.

Up to 100 guests
The Silk Room
Light, airy, and contemporary — the Silk Room offers a minimalist contrast to the Pine Room's warmth. Its clean lines and open atmosphere make it ideal for cocktail hours, ceremonies, and events where a brighter, more modern aesthetic is the goal. The brightness of the space produces clean, open images with soft, diffused light that flatters subjects naturally. Includes a venue attendant and 100 gold or mahogany chiavari chairs with tables.

Bridal party suite
The Luxe Suite
Bright and welcoming, the Luxe Suite is the bridal party's home base before the ceremony — designed for getting ready in style. Natural light, a spacious layout, and a cheerful atmosphere make it an ideal environment for the morning's most important images: the quiet moments before everything begins, captured in a space that feels genuinely beautiful rather than like a converted storage room.

Wedding party suite
The Leather Suite
Warm and stately, the Leather Suite provides the wedding party with their own private space to relax and prepare before the ceremony. The contrasting character of the two suites — bright Luxe and warm Leather — gives photographers two completely different environments for getting-ready coverage, adding visual variety to the gallery from the very first moments of the day.
Why Photographers Love This Venue
The Loft at Congdon Yards is exceptional for wedding photography because the building's century of history has created a visual depth that simply cannot be manufactured. The warm wood plank floors, the soaring timber columns, the original brick — these are materials that have aged into something beautiful, and that beauty comes through in every photograph taken here.
What makes The Loft stand out for us is how effortlessly the venue creates atmosphere. You don't need extensive decoration or elaborate lighting setups — the building does the work. The timber columns alone create natural framing opportunities in every room, and the warm tones of the wood and brick give images a richness and depth that modern venues simply can't replicate.
— Brian Anthony Photography on shooting at The Loft at Congdon YardsThe Linen Room's downtown views are particularly distinctive — one of the very few wedding venues in the Triad where the city itself becomes part of the backdrop. At night, those city lights through the windows create an energy in reception photos that you won't find at any rural or suburban venue in the area.
The Pine Room's antique bar is another standout photographic feature — a beautifully worn piece of architectural history that serves as both a functional centerpiece and a portrait backdrop. During cocktail hour coverage, the interaction between guests and the bar space consistently produces some of the most natural, candid images in the entire gallery.

- Luxe Suite natural window light
- Leather Suite warm tones & details
- Congdon Yards campus exterior
- Building stairwell & corridor portraits
Midday · Ceremony & First Look
- Pine Room timber column ceremony
- Silk Room light-filled ceremony

The Congdon Yards campus extends well beyond The Loft itself — and the broader campus offers additional portrait backdrops in the historic mill architecture, corridors, and exterior spaces that are available to event guests. During cocktail hour, we regularly take couples outside to the campus grounds for portraits that use the building's exterior character as a backdrop before returning them to their guests for the reception.

Historic venues with genuine character reward photographers who know when to step back and let the environment speak. The Loft at Congdon Yards is exactly that kind of venue — a space where the building's century of history enriches every frame without requiring intervention from the photographer. Our job is to understand the light, know the spaces, and be ready when the moments arrive.
With over 1,000 weddings photographed and filmed, our approach is rooted in documentary storytelling — capturing authentic moments as they naturally unfold while also building the intentional portrait work that takes full advantage of the venue's visual richness. At The Loft, that means using the timber columns and original brick as natural framing elements, protecting time on the campus grounds during cocktail hour, and letting the Pine Room's antique bar anchor candid coverage during the reception.
For couples getting married at The Loft at Congdon Yards, we build a custom wedding day timeline around your specific room configuration, the light patterns throughout the day, and your guest count — so you get the most out of every space without feeling rushed between them.
