Check Your DateA Century of Industrial History, Reimagined for Modern Celebrations
Just outside Uptown Charlotte, in the developing Tryon Hills neighborhood along North Tryon Street, a century-old industrial building has been transformed into one of the most architecturally compelling wedding venues in the Queen City. The Casey by Beau Monde opened in May 2024 following a $3.5 million renovation of the Foundation Supply building — a 1922 structure whose original sawtooth ceilings and steel-framed windows were preserved not as nostalgic decoration but as the defining visual identity of the space. The result is a venue that is simultaneously historic and contemporary, industrial and warm, raw and refined.
With 25,000 square feet of total event space across two levels, two large indoor event areas, a massive indoor bar, a covered outdoor patio, and an outdoor living room with its own dedicated bar and views of the Charlotte skyline, The Casey is Beau Monde's most ambitious venue to date — and the one that most clearly reflects the hospitality firm's reputation for transforming Charlotte's existing building stock into events environments that respect the character of their surroundings rather than erasing it. The Casey does not feel manufactured. It feels discovered.
For weddings, The Casey accommodates indoor ceremonies of up to 250 guests and grand receptions for 300 or more — with a recommended total budget of $40,000–$70,000 for a thoughtfully curated celebration. In-house catering is provided by Executive Chef Sam Diminich, the entrepreneur behind the acclaimed Restaurant Constance, operating from a 4,000-square-foot commercial kitchen that is among the most capable catering facilities at any Charlotte venue.

The Casey is Beau Monde's fourth Charlotte-area venue — joining The Ruth (Wesley Heights), The Collector's Room (South End), and a fourth location in Lincolnton. All bar services are provided exclusively by Beau Monde, which holds NC ABC Commission licensing for all properties. No outside alcohol is permitted. In-house catering from Chef Sam Diminich's team is available and operates from one of Charlotte's largest commercial catering kitchens at any event venue.
Sawtooth Ceilings, Steel Windows, & a Charlotte Skyline
The Casey's greatest photographic strength is the relationship between its original industrial architecture and the spaces that have been built within it. The 22-foot sawtooth ceilings — the building's most visually iconic feature — create a photography environment that is genuinely rare in Charlotte: broad, diffused, overhead natural light pouring in from angled skylight windows that were engineered to provide consistent illumination to a working manufacturing floor. For wedding photography, this produces the same quality of light that purpose-built photo studios spend thousands of dollars replicating artificially.

The Main Event Spaces — Two Levels
The Casey's two large indoor event spaces span the building's two levels, providing both horizontal and vertical spatial variety within a single venue. The signature 22-foot sawtooth ceilings dominate the primary ground-level space — their angled geometry and the diffused overhead natural light they admit creating a ceremony and reception environment that is immediately and powerfully distinctive. Steel-framed windows along the building's perimeter add directional sidelight that complements the overhead sawtooth illumination, creating a layered natural light environment that is unusually favorable for photography throughout the day. The multi-level configuration allows for creative use of the upper level for guest viewing, bridal party positioning, and elevated camera angles during ceremony and reception coverage that produce architectural wide-angle images available at very few Charlotte venues.

In-house bar program
The Indoor Bar
A large, architecturally considered bar installation within the main event space — one of The Casey's most visually dramatic interior features and a natural focal point for both reception photography and guest gathering. Beau Monde's in-house bar program operates from this bar with alcohol packages tailored to each event. The bar's scale and design make it a significant photographic element — both as a backdrop for couple and wedding party portraits and as a documentary anchor around which guests gather naturally throughout the evening. Reception candid coverage consistently returns to the bar area as the environment where the most genuine, energetic guest interactions unfold.
-
Cocktail hour & overflow
The Covered Outdoor Patio
A spacious covered outdoor patio extending from the main event spaces — the primary cocktail hour environment and a natural transition zone between the industrial interior and the open outdoor living room beyond. The patio's covered design provides weather protection without sacrificing the open-air character that makes outdoor cocktail hour coverage feel genuinely different from indoor reception photography. For photographers, the covered patio creates a partially sheltered, naturally lit environment ideal for candid guest coverage — bright enough to photograph naturally, shaded enough to be comfortable for the couple and guests.

Outdoor bar & Charlotte skyline views
The Outdoor Living Room
The Casey's signature outdoor space — a dedicated outdoor living room with its own bar and views of the Charlotte skyline. The outdoor living room is the venue's most distinctive portrait environment: the combination of the renovated industrial building's exterior architecture, the dedicated bar creating natural gathering behavior, and the Charlotte skyline visible in the background creates an urban portrait setting that is completely unlike anything available at suburban or rural Charlotte venues. At golden hour and dusk, when the city lights begin to emerge against the darkening sky, the outdoor living room produces the kind of urban-romantic portrait images that couples who choose The Casey specifically for its city-adjacent character are hoping for.

Executive Chef Sam Diminich
The 4,000 Sq Ft Catering Kitchen
One of the largest commercial catering kitchens at any Charlotte wedding venue — operated by Executive Chef Sam Diminich, the entrepreneur behind the acclaimed Restaurant Constance on Thrift Road. The kitchen's scale allows Chef Diminich's team to prepare truly elevated cuisine on-site without the logistical compromises that smaller catering facilities require. Reviewers of Beau Monde's venues consistently cite the food quality as exceptional — and the presence of a chef of this caliber operating from a facility of this size ensures that every aspect of the dining experience at a Casey wedding reflects genuine culinary intention rather than banquet-scale compromise.
Why Photographers Love This Venue
The Casey is exceptional for wedding photography because it contains one of the most technically favorable natural light environments at any Charlotte venue — and it achieves this not through modern architectural innovation but through the functional genius of a 1922 industrial building. Sawtooth ceilings were designed for exactly one purpose: to admit consistent, diffused, non-directional natural light to a factory floor across the full working day, regardless of the sun's position. For wedding photographers, this produces the equivalent of a permanently installed, overhead diffusion system across the entire main event space.
The practical result is a ceremony and reception environment where natural light quality is consistent, flattering, and beautifully diffused throughout the entire day — from morning setup through evening reception. The steel-framed windows add directional sidelight that creates depth and dimension in portraits and wide-angle shots without the harsh shadows that direct window light can produce. The combination of overhead diffusion from the sawtooth skylights and directional accent from the steel windows creates a layered indoor lighting environment that many photographers consider among the best they encounter at any industrial venue in the region.
Outside, the covered patio and outdoor living room provide open and partially sheltered natural light for cocktail hour coverage — and the Charlotte skyline visible from the outdoor space creates the defining visual context that makes The Casey's exterior portrait images immediately distinctive from those taken at any other Charlotte venue.
Best Photo Spots by Time of Day
The Casey's two-level industrial interior, covered patio, and outdoor living room with Charlotte skyline views give us a strong range of portrait and documentary environments across a wedding day. Here's how we structure coverage at this venue:
Morning · Getting Ready
- Sawtooth ceiling natural light portraits
- Steel window directional light shots
- Venue setup & architectural details
- Building exterior street portraits
Midday · Ceremony & Cocktail Hour
- Main hall sawtooth ceiling ceremony
- Upper level overview ceremony angles
- Covered patio cocktail hour candids
- Indoor bar portrait backdrop
Evening · Golden Hour & Reception
- Outdoor living room skyline portraits
- Charlotte dusk city backdrop
- Main hall reception coverage
- Bar & dance floor evening candids
The outdoor living room at dusk is the golden hour priority at every Casey wedding. As the natural light inside the main hall transitions from daylight to evening and the Charlotte skyline begins to illuminate against the darkening sky behind the venue, the outdoor space creates a portrait environment that is completely specific to this location and moment. We protect 15–20 minutes in the outdoor living room during the transition from cocktail hour to reception for these portraits — and they consistently become the most urban, most location-specific images in the gallery.
Brian Anthony Photography at The Casey
Industrial venues renovated with genuine investment and architectural respect — rather than simply cleaned up and rented — produce a working environment for photographers that reflects the care taken in their transformation. The Casey's $3.5 million renovation preserved the original sawtooth ceilings and steel windows because they are irreplaceable, and that preservation decision has photographic consequences that ripple through every image made inside the building. Venues that honor their architecture produce better photographs because there is more to work with — more depth, more texture, more genuine character in every frame.
With over 1,000 weddings photographed and filmed, our approach is rooted in documentary storytelling — capturing authentic moments as they naturally unfold while building the intentional portrait work that takes full advantage of what the venue offers. At The Casey, that means using the sawtooth ceiling light for ceremony and reception coverage, protecting the outdoor living room during the skyline transition at dusk, and letting the indoor bar anchor candid reception coverage in a way that feels natural rather than staged.
For couples getting married at The Casey, we build a custom wedding day timeline around the venue's light patterns, the two-level layout, and your guest count — ensuring you get the most out of the building's extraordinary interior architecture and the Charlotte skyline views that make this venue uniquely, unmistakably itself.
