The T. Austin Finch House is a beautiful, historic wedding venue in Thomasville, NC. The bright white exterior walls and lush grounds are the perfect backdrop to any wedding day. When Melanie and Reuben reached out to us about photographing their late-winter wedding there, we were so excited. The beauty of this venue made portrait time a breeze. With gorgeous exterior architecture and interior design, we couldn’t stop clicking our cameras. 

Reuben and Melanie are salt-of-the-earth individuals. Melanie is witty and so much fun. Her man, Reuben, was equally goofy and fun. We met these two on a chilly and sunny February day. Melanie sketched out time in their day to have a private and emotional first look with her father. We are suckers for these sentimental moments! Following this special moment, Melanie and Reuben had their first look together at the bottom of the stairs. After everyone wiped away their tears of joy, it was go-time! The ceremony took place in the carved rosewood library. Rev G. performed an intimate ceremony for the couple which was beautifully done. 

The small guest list filed into the reception hall to enjoy a cold glass of champagne and delicious cake. The cake was a secret recipe from their Grandma! It was adorned with a custom Avatar cake topper that perfectly represented the couple. Their love for The Last Airbender was incorporated into other details of their day, including the guestbook and invitations. 

No one wanted the party to end. But don’t worry, Melanie and Reuben are already planning a one-year anniversary celebration with their extended family and friends for next year!
