Emily & Meredith’s Winter Wedding at Bella Collina Mansion

Stokesdale, North Carolina

Emily and Meredith chose January on purpose. They wanted something a little quieter, a little more intimate, and Bella Collina Mansion delivered exactly that.

Set on the lake in Stokesdale, Bella Collina Mansion offers a mix of European inspired architecture and open waterfront views. Even in the middle of winter, the property feels expansive and elegant. The ceremony space overlooks the water, and the indoor reception areas allow guests to stay warm without sacrificing atmosphere. It is a venue that works beautifully year round, and this wedding proved it.

First Touch and First Look

Emily and Meredith chose to do both a first touch and a first look. The first touch gave them a quiet moment to connect before the ceremony without seeing each other. It settled nerves and slowed the pace of the morning.

Later, when they turned around for their first look, the emotion was immediate. Genuine smiles. A few tears. A long hug. It gave us time for portraits before the ceremony and allowed them to walk down the aisle already grounded.

Style and Personal Details

Both dresses featured romantic lace details that photographed beautifully against the winter backdrop. The textures added depth without feeling overdone. Classic, clean, and timeless.

One of the most memorable details of the day was their wedding favors. Instead of something traditional, they collected thrifted mugs for guests to take home. Every mug was different. It felt personal and thoughtful, and guests genuinely loved choosing one that fit their style.

The cake, created by Bake Me Happy, balanced elegance and personality. The design was clean and refined, but the miniature figurines of their pets on top made it unmistakably theirs.

Dinner was provided by Gianno's Catering. The meal was well paced and beautifully presented. Guests lingered at their tables, which is always a sign that the food and the flow are working together the way they should.

A Sunset Worth the Cold

Winter weddings require a little commitment. The air was cold, especially by the lake, but Emily and Meredith trusted the process.

As the sun set over the water, the light turned soft and golden. The lake reflected the sky, and the stillness created a clean, cinematic backdrop. They held each other close between shots, laughing at the temperature. The cold was worth it. Those lakeside portraits are some of our favorites from the day.

A Packed Dance Floor

Once the reception officially shifted into party mode, DJ Rone took over and kept the energy high all night. A great DJ does more than play music. They read the room, adjust in real time, and keep momentum building.

The dance floor stayed full. Guests of all ages were out there. The transitions were smooth, the timing was right, and the room never felt flat. That kind of consistency changes the entire feel of a reception.

Sparkler Send Off

The night ended with a sparkler send off on the grounds of Bella Collina. Guests lined up along the drive, sparklers lit, cheering as Emily and Meredith made their way through. It was bright, joyful, and the perfect closing moment to a day that felt intentional from start to finish.

Emily and Meredith created a celebration that was personal without being overcomplicated. Thoughtful details. Strong vendor team. Beautiful setting. A willingness to step outside in the cold for something special.

A winter wedding done right.
